27/11/2017 Typography and Group formation
Hi,
In this lesson we talked initially about typography, and its keywords;
different families of fonts, how the Italic and Bold are designed for each font.
The Leading, which is the gap between each line of text, and the Kerning, that is the space between the letters, are important to consider while viewing text displayed on different platforms. This makes our text easy to read.
We saw also the units of measure used in typography, like the Pica, and methods of measuring, like the Points, Em which is the width on the uppercase M, and En, width on the uppercase N (1 Em equals 12 Points).
This is a logotype I was working on Illustrator.
We did form our groups for the final project as well, and we are all very excited for the assignment!
